The Burlington Bees have teamed up with TV show "Playing for Peanuts" to offer digital TV episode downloads to their fans.
/Television PR News/ - BURLINGTON, IA, August 25, 2008 - The Burlington Bees have teamed up with TV show "Playing for Peanuts" to offer digital TV episode downloads to their fans.
Beginning August 25, fans will receive a free Digital Download Card with every purchase at the Bees Gift Shop. The plastic cards - manufactured by Dropcards.com - will allow fans to download free episodes and music from the show. Episodes can be viewed on computers and portable video devices including iPods and iPhones.
"Playing for Peanuts" is a 10-episode reality TV series chronicling a year in the life of the South Georgia Peanuts. Camera crews followed the Peanuts during their only season in the ill-fated South Coast League. The TV series premiered in May 2008 on TV networks in nine regional markets, averaging 150,000 viewers nationally.
"It's exciting to be able to partner with the Bees on a unique promotion like this," explains "Playing for Peanuts" producer John Fitzgerald. "I'm hoping the promotion introduces the TV show to baseball fans who might not have heard of it otherwise."
Bees play-by-play broadcaster Matt Pauley appears in the show. Pauley was the voice of the South Georgia Peanuts during the 2007. |
