Christmas TV: Doctor Who Special: The Tardis Loses its Old Tennant!
David Tennant bows out as the tenth Dr Who in a spectacular Christmas two-parter, and he tells TV Choice how it was emotional leaving the show and watching his final episodes.
LONDON, UK December 11, 2009 /Television PR News/ -- 'It was really exciting and everyone cried, including me,' admits David about the story that sees another outing for The Time Lord's arch nemesis The Master (John Simm), as well as Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) and her grandfather Wilfred Mott (Bernard Cribbins).
'I'm really proud of these episodes and relieved that it feels like we're going out properly, with a flourish.'
Also in this week's double Christmas issue, Judi Dench chats about Cranford, while Sue Johnston and Michelle Dockery star in spooky ghost story The Turn Of The Screw. John Hurt once again plays the eccentric Quentin Crisp in An Englishman in New York, and it is 2039 in the Harper household for the My Family seasonal special.
There are plenty of laughs too as Hugh Dennis reveals more about the Outnumbered festive offering, and Catherine Tate: Nan's Christmas Special is inspired by Charles Dickens' classic Christmas tale. The Royle Family are also back, and Victoria Wood tells us about her comedy special.
In the soaps, warring couple Charity and Cain end up engaged in Emmerdale, while EastEnders' Archie is attacked and left for dead in The Vic. Kevin changes his mind about confessing his affair with Molly when he discovers Sally has breast cancer in Coronation Street. And Zoe's plan to expose Lydia as a killer backfires when she is horrifically stabbed at Sarah's graveside in Hollyoaks.
There is also a family holiday to St Lucia, and a Sony home cinema system plus Wii console, to be won in two great competitions.
